Rally Falls Short

The Alfred State College women's soccer team could not rally out of a 2-0 deficit and fell 2-1 to Broome CC in a Region III Division III contest.  The Lady Pioneers are now 3-3 on the year.

Brooke Harris scored with 8:38 remaining in the 1st half and scored 1:23 into the 2nd half to give the Lady Hornets a 2-0 lead.

Megan Votava (Alfred Almond) cut the lead in half with 32:23 remaining when her long shot from nearly 40 yards out found the upper part of the net.

The Lady Pioneers kept the pressure on but was unable to net the equalizer.  Votava boomed another long shot that just missed in the final minutes of the contest.

ASC outshot Broome 12 to 7.  Mo Parks (Avoca) made five saves in net for Alfred.

The Lady Pioneers hit the road on Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest at Niagara CCC.
