Early Goal Lifts ASC past Delhi

Lucas Wales (Bath Haverling) scored 4:04 into the first half on a direct kick to lift Alfred State to a 1-0 victory over SUNY Delhi in the Pioneers season opener.  The game is part of the East-West Showdown held at Pioneer Stadium.

ASC outshot Delhi 15 to 6 in the contest.  Dan Krajcir (Gloversville) made four saves in net to record the shutout.

In the other East-West Showdown match-up, Mohawk Valley CC downed Jamestown CC 4-2.

Alfred State takes on Mohawk Valley CC at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday following the Jamestown-Delhi contest which is slated for a Noon start.
