Lady Pioneers Battle #1 Monroe Tough

The Alfred State softball team played tough versus #1 ranked Monroe CC on Tuesday.  ASC fell 5-0 and 6-2 to the Lady Tribunes who improve to 38-13 on the season.

The Lady Pioneers were held to just three hits on the day.  MCC held the Lady Pioneers without a base runner in the first game but ASC got on the board first in game two.  Charise Nankivell (Hornell) singled home Angie Depew (Wellsville) who had doubled earlier in the inning.  Sam Smithgall (Perry) collected the team's other hit in the contest.

Alfred State finishes the regular season this weekend with road doubleheaders at Tompkins Cortland CC and Jefferson CC.
