The Alfred State College softball team fell 11-5 and 8-0 to Corning CC in their regular season home finale.  The losses were the first this season at home and drop ASC to 10-14 (7-10 Region III Division III).

Corning jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first game before ASC plated four runs in the 4th to cut it to 6-4.  The Barons responded with three in the 5th and two in 7th to secure the victory.  Charise Nankivell (Hornell) was 2 for 4 with a RBI, Angie Depew (Wellsville) was 2 for 4, and Heather Gerace (Avon) drove home two in the four-run 4th.

In the nightcap, Corning held the Lady Pioneers to just four hits in the shutout victory.  CCC scored two in the 1st, three in the 3rd, and one in the 4th, 5th, and 6th.  Depew led ASC with a 2 for 3 performance.

Alfred State begins a season ending road trip on Saturday with a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Erie CC.
