Perry Receives Freshman Advocate Award

Lawrence Perry receives Freshman Advocate AwardDr. Steven Tyrell, vice president for student affairs at Alfred State College recently presented the Freshman Advocate Award, to Lawrence Perry, assistant professor, Automotive Trades Department, during the College’s 26th Honors Convocation ceremony. The award, sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs, is given to the employee at Alfred State who had a most positive influence on a student's freshman year at the College. In the nomination, Perry was characterized as a faculty member who takes extra time and care to explain his lessons; engages all of his students, regardless of academic level; and is well-prepared on knowledgeable in his discipline.
