Big Run Lifts Pioneer Lacrosse to Victory

Ten different Pioneers found the back of the net as Alfred State won their second game in a row 23-10 over Niagara CCC.  The blue & gold improve to 4-7 on the season and 4-5 in Region III contests.

Alfred State broke open a 5-4 game by scoring the next thirteen goals of the game.  ASC outscored NCCC 9-0 in the 2nd quarter and 6-1 in the 3rd quarter.

Chase Bailey (Corning West) and Ryan Speciale (Corning West led all scorers with eight points each.  Bailey tallied seven goals and an assist while Speciale had three goals and five assists.

Kevin Gardrvits (Glen Cove) and Tony Micelotta (Irondequoit) each recorded hat tricks while Troy Johnson (Hilton), 2 goals and 1 assist, and Anthony Amoroso (Jamestown), 1 goal and 2 assists, each tallied three points.

Mike Harris (Maine Endwell) was 16 for 20 at the faceoff circle and added two assists, James Moss (Hilton) passed out two assists, and Tyler Baird (Corning West), James Battaglini (Vestal), Josh Apenowich (Corning West), and Tim Dyer (Penn Yan) all scored once.  James Bratton (Canandaigua) picked up his first point of the season with a helper.

Jon Shumway (Oneonta) earned the win in goal with five saves while Randy Kryszak (Orchard Park) made three stops.

The Pioneers travel to Syracuse on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. contest with #3 ranked Onondaga CC.
