Pioneers Race Past FLCC

Alfred State won 23 out of 29 faceoffs in a 20-5 victory over Finger Lakes CC on Friday afternoon.  The blue & gold are now 3-7 on the season heading into their final four games of the regular season.

Tony Micelotta (Irondequouit) tallied six points on two goals and four assists to lead the Pioneers offense while Anthony Amoroso (Jamestown) finished with three assists and two assists.  Tyler Baird (Corning West) scored four goals while Chase Bailey (Corning West), Troy Johnson (Hilton) and Kevin Gardrvits (Glen Cove) all finished with hat tricks. 

Ryan Speciale (Corning West) finished with three assists, James Moss (Hilton) added a goal and an assist, and Aaron Kosowski (East Aurora) tallied his first career goal.

Randy Kryszak (Orchard Park) made nine saves in the first three quarters to earn the victory while Jon Shumway (Oneonta) made two saves in the fourth.

Josh Apenowich (Corning West) was 11 for 13 in the faceoff circle while Mike Harris (Maine Endwell) was 11 for 14.

The Pioneers return home on Sunday for a 1 p.m. contest with Niagara CCC.
