Herkimer Tops Lady Pioneers

A nine run 1st inning in game one and a seven run 2nd in game two led Herkimer CCC to a doubleheader sweep of Alfred State on Sunday afternoon.  ASC's four game winning streak was snapped and the team falls to 6-8 (3-4 Region III Division III) on the year.

Sam Smithgall (Perry) led the Pioneer offense with a 4 for 5 day collecting two hits in each game and scoring a run.  Amber Harding (Fillmore) picked up the lone RBI of the day with a hit in game one.

The Lady Pioneers will look to rebound on Tuesday when they host Niagara CCC in a 3 p.m. doubleheader.
