Professor Amman with members of ASC Honors ProgramMark Amman, professor and acting chair, Physical and Health Sciences Department at Alfred State College, met with members of the Alfred State College Honors Program and biology students in February to explain how high-energy, high-caffeine drinks affect the human body physically and mentally. Describing the popularity and high consumption of these drinks as a ‘huge experiment,’ he detailed the good and bad chemical and nutritional effects and the biochemistry behind those effects. Amman’s presentation is the first in a series of Honors Seminars to be presented this spring.
