Slow Start Dooms Lady Pioneers

The Mercyhurst North East women's basketball team built a 23-point halftime lead en route to a 77-63 victory over Alfred State.  The Lady Pioneers fall to 10-11 overall and 1-5 in WNYAC play.

Brittney Brooks (Elmira Free) led the blue & gold with 16 points while Kim Winquist (Wilson) finished with 11 points and nine rebounds.  Shawna McNeil (Hornell) chipped in 11 while Shadeeka Campbell (Brooklyn/William Grady) added 8.

Five Saints scored in double digits as the Saints used a balanced attack. Kelsey Sullivan made 5-of-7 shots and scored a game high 16 points. Cassie Elser and Jasmine Washington both scored 11 points while Tyler McClain and Marlynda Harland both added 10.

ASC will look to break a five-game losing streak on Tuesday when they host Jamestown CC at 5:30 p.m.
