Alfred State College Raises Money for Haiti

Massara, Lamere, and CanneAlfred State College students, faculty, and staff continue their fund raising efforts for Haiti relief and are pleased to note that the college community has so far raised $5,779.24 for Haiti Outreach, directed by Neil Van Dine, son of retired Wellsville ophthalmologist Dr. Kenneth Van Dine who addressed the campus community in January. The “Rebuild Haiti, One Brick at a Time” campaign has so far raised $2,800; the Give-up-a-Meal event and ACES (Auxiliary Campus Enterprises and Services, the campus dining and vending operation) employee donation (1-25-10) raised $2,792.24; donations collected at ASC sporting events thus far amount to $50; “Pie-an-RA” program netted $100; and funds given following Dr. Van Dine’s presentation totaled $37.
