Submitted by WelkerPM on Sun, 11/08/2009 - 8:38pm

At the Monroe CC Classic, the Alfred State College men's basketball team split a pair of games.  The Pioneers defeated SUNY Delhi 70-69 in overtime on Saturday but fell 59-49 to CCAC Allegheny on Sunday.

Rasean Parris (Benjamin Banneker) and Neil Wilson (Ft. Worth, TX) each had 15 points to lead the Pioneers in the victory over Delhi.  Younatan Gobezai (Bethesda, MD) and Lydell Wilson (Freeport) finished with 10 each while Brendan Letteer (Odessa Montour) and Boris Boundjia (Cameroon) chipped in eight each.

ASC led 36-27 at half but the Broncos rallied and tied the game and set it to OT where the Pioneers outscored Delhi 9-8.

On Sunday, ASC fell behind by as many as 16 and tried to rally but could never get closer than six points.  Gobezai led the way with 16 points while Parris chipped in 12.

The blue & gold are now 2-2 on the season and will head to Cayuga CC on Tuesday for a 8 p.m. battle with the Spartans.
