Men's Soccer Advances with OT Win

Kevin Arilotta (Churchville) found Masanari Yamamoto (Tokyo, Japan) with a nice crossing pass with 4:29 remaining in the first overtime to lift the Alfred State College men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Jefferson CC in a Region III Division III Tournament first round contest.

The #8 seeded Pioneers and #9 seeded Cannoneers traded opportunities throughout regulation with both goalies making game-saving stops.

On the winning play, Arilotta took the ball to the far corner of the box and sent a cross that found the head of Yamamoto who was able to sneak it in the net.

ASC held a 15 to 6 shot advantage.  Dan Krajcir (Gloversville) made four saves in net for ASC while Brandon Davis made ten saves for JCC.

The Pioneers improve to 8-6-1 on the season and will travel to #1 seeded Herkimer CCC for a quarterfinal match-up with the Generals.
