Men's Soccer: Five Named All-WNYAC

Five members of the Alfred State College men's soccer team have earned All-WNYAC honors.  Kevin Arilotta (Churchville), Masanari Yamamoto (Tokyo, Japan), Erik Reynolds (East Rochester), and Dan Krajcir (Gloversville) were first team selections while Steven Hickey (Aquinas) was named to the second team.

Arilotta was a key midfielder for the Pioneers.  He finished with two goals and five assists.  His nine points is currently second most on the team.  Arilotta was a All-WNYAC second team selection last year.

Yamamoto lead the Pioneers with 11 points from his forward position.  He has scored five goals and passed out one assist.  He scored in five different games including the game winners versus Corning CC, Niagara CCC, and Genesee CC.

Reynolds has been leader of the defensive backfield.  He has helped the defense to four shutouts and a 1.33 goals against average.  On the offensive side of the ball he has one assist.

Krajcir has had a solid freshman campaign in net for the blue & gold.  He is 7-6-1 on the season in 1,258 minutes of action.  He has made 73 saves and has a 1.22 goals against average.  He has recorded four shutouts on the season.

Hickey netted a goal and passed out an assist so far this season from his midfield position.  His goal came in the final regular season contest of the versus Tompkins Cortland CC.

The Pioneers are currently 7-6-1 on the season.  They finished second in the WNYAC Division III contests with a 3-1 record.  ASC enters the Region III Division III Tournament as the #8 seed and will battle #9 Jefferson CC on Saturday at 4 p.m. in a first round contest.
