Men's Soccer Earns #8 Seed
Printer-friendly versionThe Alfred State College men's soccer team will enter the 2009 Region III Division III Tournament as the #8 seed after finishing the regular season with 7-6-1 overall record and a 6-5-1 Region III Division III mark. ASC will host #9 Jefferson CC in a first round match-up on Saturday at 4 p.m.
Alfred State and Jefferson CC met earlier in the year in Watertown with the Pioneers winning 2-0. Jason Durst (Gates Chili) and Koya Takadama (Fukushima, Japan) scored for ASC while Dan Krajcir (Gloversville) made two saves.
On the year, ASC has been led by Masanari Yamamoto's (Tokyo, Japan) five goals and an assist. The defense has a 1.33 goals against average in front of Dan Krajcir (Gloversville). Krajcir has made 73 saves and personally has a 1.22 GAA.
The winner of the ASC-Jefferson CC will travel to #1 Herkimer CCC on Tuesday November 3 for a quarterfinal contest.
