The Alfred State College volleyball team will head to the Region III Division III Tournament for the fifth straight year under head coach Gene Doorley on Saturday as the #6 seed.  The blue & gold are 19-12 on the year and 17-10 in Region III Division III play.

The Pioneers will play in Pool B with #2 Erie CC, #3 Corning CC, and the winner of a sub regional match between #7 Monroe CC and #10 Herkimer CCC to be played on Tuesday evening.  Each pool play contest consists of three games to 25 points.  Teams are awarded a point for each game won and the top two teams in each pool will move on to the Regional semifinals on Sunday.

#1 Niagara CCC headlines Pool A.  They are joined by #4 Fulton Montgomery CC, #5 SUNY Delhi, and the winner of the #8 Jefferson CC/#9 Jamestown CC sub-regional.

Saturday's Region III Division III Tournament will be held at Corning CC.  ASC opens up with Corning CC at 10 a.m., will play Erie CC at approximately 2:30 p.m., and finish off versus Monroe CC at approximately 4 p.m.  Match times with the exception of the first matches of the day at 10 a.m. will be played as soon as possible after the completion of the previous game and warm-ups.

Alfred State is the two-time defending champion.  The Region III champion moves on to the NJCAA Division III National Championships in Rochester, MN.
