Cross Country Remains In Top Five

The Alfred State College cross country team had the weekend off from competition but remained in their top five spots in the latest NJCAA Division III polls.  The men are ranked #3 and the women are #5.

The Pioneers have been in the top ten in each of the four polls released in 2009.  The men received 320 points and trail Region III rivals Mohawk Valley CC (360) and SUNY Delhi (400).  Broome CC (5th) and Erie CC (8th) are also in the poll.  The women received 240 points and trail Broome (380), Ocean CC (380), Mohawk Valley CC (320), and Delhi (280). 

The blue & gold return to action on Saturday when they compete at the Nazereth Invitational.  The first race is set for an 11 a.m. start.
