Public Invited to Informational Discussion on Energy for the Homeowner

The School of Applied Technology at Alfred State College invites the public to attend an informational discussion on energy for the homeowner. Jeff Stevens, assistant professor, Electrician, Computer and Robotics Technician Department (aka “the renewable energy guy on campus”) will discuss how to evaluate your family’s current energy usage and how to find ways to lower your total energy bill, including heat, hot water, electricity, etc. Also on the schedule, a discussion about new renewable forms of energy, including PV (photo voltaic or solar electric), wind (electric generated from wind turbines), solar thermal (heating water from the sun), and geo thermal (heating or cooling derived from the earth); and how these new technologies can fit in your household and your budget. The discussion will be followed by a question-and-answer period.

This free Home Energy/Renewable Energy Workshop is scheduled as part of the 4th Annual Taste of Wellsville celebration which takes place Saturday, Oct. 10, from 12:30-3:30 p.m. The Workshop will begin a 2 p.m. in the Library Building classroom on the Wellsville campus.
