Men's Soccer Wins Fifth Straight

The Alfred State College men's soccer team won their fifth straight game 3-1 over Erie CC at Pioneer Stadium on Thursday afternoon.  The Pioneers improve to 6-4 (5-3 Region III Division III) with the win.

After a scoreless first half, ASC got on the board 4:17 into the second half when Kevin Arilotta (Churchville) found the back of the net after get a pretty crossing pass from Koya Takadama (Fukushima, Japan).  Caleb Drake (Jasper Trouspburg) netted his first of the season to make it 2-0 with 8:45 remaining on a long shot that found the back corner of the net.

ECC's Matt Meyer closed the gap back to one, 2-1, less than thirty seconds later when he scored on a penalty kick but Masanari Yamamoto (Tokyo, Japan) iced the game when he scored after getting a pass from Justin Handley (Iroquois).

Dan Krajcir (Gloversville) made four saves in net for the Pioneers as the blue & gold outshot the Kats 13 to 6.

Alfred State hits the road on Saturday for a 3 p.m. contest at Cayuga CC.
