The Alfred State College volleyball team fell in four to Corning CC on Thursday night, 19-25, 18-25, 25-21, 25-27. The Lady Pioneers are now 9-9 on the season.
Emily Linn (Portville) led Alfred State with twelve kills while Rachel Hale (Batavia) added six and Kelly Dumbleton (Warsaw) finished with five. Kelly McDermott (Webster Thomas) finished with nine digs and five aces, Heather Gerace (Avon) added five digs and two aces, and Chrissy Nolan (Niagara Wheatfield) had three digs and two aces.
The Lady Pioneers have over a week off before hosting the annual Alfred State Invitational on October 10th. Scheduled to compete in the tournament are Jamestown CC, Erie CC, Jefferson CC, Tompkins Cortland CC, Onondaga CC, Broome CC, and Corning CC.
