Women's Soccer records 7th shutout

The Alfred State College women's soccer team recorded its seventh shutout of the season, 2-0 over JCC-Olean on Tuesday evening.  The win for the 10th ranked NJCAA Division III squad improves their record to 7-1-2 overall and 6-1-1 in Region III Division III play.

Jessie Smith (Fredonia) netted a penalty kick with 6:30 remaining in the first half.  She found the back of the again three and half minutes into the second half after getting a pass from Hailey Post (Jasper Troupsburg).  Smith becomes the first Lady Pioneer to score multiple goals on the season.

In net, Mo Parks (Avoca) continued her solid play by making six saves for another shutout.  She has been in net for all seven shutouts and has allowed just three goals all season.

JCC-Olean falls to 7-2-1 on the season and 4-1-1 in Region III Division III play.

Alfred State hosts Erie CC at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday in another WNYAC Region III Division III contest.
