Q&A with Audrey Rath, Chelsea Lafayette, and Jackie Matteson

Recently three members of the Alfred State College women's soccer team answered some questions from the Sports Information Department to give an inside look at Lady Pioneer soccer.  Sophomore defenders Audrey Rath (Medina), Chelsea Lafayette (Eastridge), and Jackie Matteson (Greece Arcadia) have been a big reason ASC has allowed just three goals in the first nine games.

Describe your thoughts on the start of the season?

ALL- We started off rocky and couldn’t find our rhythm, but as games progressed we found our capability through all or our talent

What are some of your personal and team goals for this season?

ALL- Working together, keeping positive thoughts, and going all the way

What was your main focus in the off-season to help you for the 09’ season?

ALL- Getting in shape

What is the best part of being a student/athlete at Alfred State?

ALL- Getting to have a family away from home, and obviously the paid meals after the game

What song/ type of song gets you pumped up before a game?

ALL- go hard, can’t be touched, it’s my time

If you could play Soccer with one famous athlete who would it be?

ALL- Mia Hamm

What is your college major? Why?

AR- Interior design because I’m artistic

CL- Liberal Arts, I didn’t know what I wanted to be until the end of last year, a childrens teacher

JM- Liberal Arts, I didn’t know I wanted to be a trainer until last year

Where do you see yourself in five years?

AR- Hopefully making money down south

CL- Just getting out of school, getting a teaching job down south

JM- Getting out of school, getting a teaching job in Rochester
