Glomb Named Special Teams POTW

Alfred State College punter Jeff Glomb (Buffalo/St. Francis) has been named the Northeast Football Conference special teams player of the week.  Glomb is the second straight Pioneer to be honored by the NFC.

Glomb punted six times in the Pioneers 10-6 loss to Erie CC for 224 yards.  Four of his punts landed inside the 20 yard line and his long on the day registered 54 yards.  For the season, Glomb has punted 12 times for an avergae of 34.5 yards per punt.

Last week, Sir Aaron Taylor (Westchester) was named the defensive player of the week after leading the Pioneers with eight tackles in ASC's 40-14 victory over Stevens Tech.  He also picked off a pass and broke up two other pass plays.

Alfred State opens up the home portion of their season on Monday, September 21 when they take on Buffalo State College JV at 7 p.m. at Pioneer Stadium.
