Dr. Choichiro Yatani, professor, Social and Behavioral Sciences Department at Alfred State College, pursued several academic activities recently:
Yatani has had a paper titled “With Us or Against Us: American Images of the Enemy” (presented at the 20th Oxford Round Table in March 2008) published in Terrorism and Global Insecurity: A Multidisciplinary Perspective (Ch. 7, 137-148, 2009) by Alexander Klint (Ed.), Linton Atlantic Books, Ltd.
He also presented two papers: “Humanizing Science and Technology or Alienating the Learners: The Paradox of Sociology 5213 – Science, Technology & Society,” at the 16th International Conference on Learning, The University of Barcelona, Spain, July 2009; and “No Racism, No Sexism, and No Enemy in the 2008 American Presidential Race: Psychology in a Social Context,” at the 4th International Conference on Interdisciplinary Social Sciences, The University of Athens, Greece, July 2009.
Yatani also participated in a panel discussion and presented a paper titled “With Us or Against Us: American Images of the Enemy in a Global Community” at the Annual Meeting of the Law and Society Association Denver, May 2009.
A member of Alfred State’s faculty since 1991, Yatani holds three psychology degrees: a doctorate from SUNY (State University of New York) at Stony Brook, a master’s degree from Oregon State University, and a bachelor’s degree from Utah State University.
