Goodbye to China 150 Students

Submitted by HoyerSM on Fri, 05/22/2009 - 12:07pm

farewell receptionSmiles and tears mingled Wednesday evening as Alfred State College President Dr. John M. Anderson hosted a reception to bid farewell to the two Chinese students hosted by the College and SUNY (State University of New York) as part of the SUNY China 150 initiative. The program was created to allow 150 Chinese students to continue their studies in SUNY schools after an earthquake devastated Sichuan province last May. Alfred State College was among 22 SUNY schools participating in the program. Pictured here, holding one of the mementos they will bring back with them are (l-r) Ma Xiaochuan and Lin Zhongdong. They are flanked by John M. Anderson, president of Alfred State College (left), and Dr. Ronald R. Rosati, provost and vice president for academic affairs at Alfred State College.
