Submitted by WelkerPM on Tue, 04/21/2009 - 11:45am

The Alfred State College men's track and field team moved up one spot and the women's team remained solid in the latest NJCAA Division III Poll.  The men are currently ranked 3rd while the women hold on to the #8 ranking.

The Pioneers have a busy week ahead of them with athletes competing in three different events.  David Gross (Brockport) and Dan Reynolds (Wayland Cohocton) will compete at the Penn Relays on Friday, a majority of the team will travel to SUNY Geneseo on Saturday for the SUNY G Invitational, and on Sunday, Shawna McNeil (Hornell), Schuyler Duross (Johnstown), and Jared Glaser (Webster Schroeder) will compete at the Region III heptathlon/decathlon competition at Erie CC.

Both the men's and women's team have been in the national poll all season.

Alfred State will host the NJCAA Division III National Championships May 7-9 at Pioneer Stadium.
