GCC used a five-run 5th inning to break open a 5-3 game in the opener.  Katherine McCarthy (Orchard Park) led the offense with a 3 for 4 day including a two-run triple.  Amanda Theleman (Whitney Point) also chipped in multiple hits finishing 2 for 4.

Alfred State scored four runs in the bottom of the 4th inning to close within 7-6 in game two but the Lady Cougars erupted for nine runs in the 5th to complete the sweep.  Leandra Spoor (Laurens) was 1 for 2 with a RBI while Jessica Herbst (Naples), McCarthy, and Theleman were each 1 for 3 with a RBI.

The blue and gold open a busy weekend on Saturday with a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Mercyhurst North East.  They return home on Sunday for a Noon start versus Jefferson CC.
