Lacrosse Downs Delhi

The Alfred State College lacrosse team outscored SUNY Delhi 7-2 in both the first and third quarter en route to a 20-11 victory.  The win propels the Pioneers to 4-1 and drops the Broncos to 5-1.

Five different Pioneers recorded hat tricks.  Ryan Grogan (Churchville Chili) and Ryan Speciale (Corning West) each scored four goals and passed out an assist to lead the way.  Tony Micelotta (Irondequoit) and William Ardolino (William Floyd) each scored three goals and passed out an assist while Ben Rossignolo (Churchville Chili) had three goals.

Josh Mateo (Waterloo) had a big day in the middle of the field picking up a game-high 16 ground balls and chipping in two assists while Cory Mee (Churchville Chili) finished with a goal and an assist.

In net Marshall Merritt (Marcellus) made 22 saves.

Stefan Dabkowski led Delhi with five goals while Dan Hamlin chipped in four.

The Pioneers conclude their three game homestand at Pioneer Stadium on Tuesday with a 4 p.m. start versus Cayuga CC.
