Lax Downs Del Tech

For the second day in a row the Alfred State College lacrosse team netted 13 goals in a victory during their annual southern trip.  Friday, the Pioneers improved to 2-0 with a 13-11 victory over Delaware Tech in a contest played at Wesley College.

Ryan Speciale (Corning West) led seven Pioneers that found the back of the net with five goals.  Chase Bailey (Corning West) netted two goals and passed out an assist while Tony Micelotta (Irondequoit) had a goal and an assist.  Ben Rossignolo (Churchville) scored twice, Bill Ardolino (William Floyd) had a goal and an assist, and Josh Mateo (Waterloo) had two assists.

Cory Mee (Churchville) and James Moss (Hilton) each scored once while Ryan Grogan (Churchville) and Mitch Mertel (Churchville) were each credited with an assist.

Donald Merritt (Marcellus) made 10 saves in net. 

ASC led 6-5 at half and opened up a 11-8 lead heading into the final quarter.

The Pioneers return to action next Saturday when they travel to Herkimer CCC for a showdown with #5 ranked Generals.  Opening faceoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
