Pioneers fall at Monroe

Both the Alfred State College men's and women's basketball teams fell at Monroe CC on Tuesday in WNYAC match-ups.  The men fell 66-56 to the #7 ranked Tribunes (17-5) while the women fell 94-46 to the #17 Lady Tribunes (16-4).

Neil Wilson (Ft. Worth, TX) continued his solid play with a a game-high 21 points on 9 for 15 shooting.  Travis Brannen (Elmira Free) chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds while Dan Foley (Irondequoit) finished with eight points and 10 boards. Alfred State (8-10, 2-4 WNYAC) held a 46 to 33 advantage on the boards and trailed by just three, 26-23 at halftime.

Brittney Brooks (Elmira Free) led the Lady Pioneers (7-9) with 24 points on 10 for 20 shooting (2 for 3 from three and 2 for 2 from the foul line).  Sherelle Brooks (Elmira Free) chipped in four points and was credited with seven assists.  ASC was slowed down by 35 turnovers.

The Pioneers are back in action on Thursday when they host Mercyhurst North East in another WNYAC doubleheader.  The women tip at 5:30 p.m. and the men at 7:30 p.m.
