Genesee CC jumped out to a 15-2 lead and never looked back en route to a 70-45 victory over Alfred State in the WNYAC opener for both teams.  ASC ends the 2008 portion of the season with a 4-7 mark while GCC evens up their record at 3-3.

Jamia Martin led three Lady Cougars in double figures with 16 points and eight rebounds.  Brittany McCray recorded a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds while Akebulynn Stephens finished with 11 points.  Blanca Jones came off the bench and had nine points and 12 rebounds.

Gina Moss (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) led the Lady Pioneers with 13 points and seven boards.  Christina Loder (Brantford, ONT) and Ayana Rhodes (Buffalo/East Ridge) each finished with eight points.

GCC held a 60 to 44 advantage on the boards including a 30 to 17 advantage on the offensive glass.  The Lady Cougars also forced 30 Pioneer turnovers and blocked 11 shots.

ASC has over a month off before they return to action in 2009 when they host Elmira College JV on January 14.  Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
