Pioneers Down Corning

Both the Alfred State College men's and women's basketball teams earned victories at Corning CC on Thursday.  The women evened their record at 1-1 with a 69-47 victory while the men are now 2-2 following a 77-56 win.

Sherelle Brooks (Elmira Free) connected on 6 three-pointers and led the Lady Pioneers with 27 points.  Ayana Rhodes (Buffalo/East Ridge) finished with 10 points while Brittney Brooks (Elmira Free) chipped in six points.

Terell Williams (Marshall) led the men's team with 21 points while Neil Wilson (Fort Worth, TX) chipped in 14 points.  Daniel Odiase (James Monroe) also finished in double figures with 13 points.

The men's team is back in action on Saturday when they travel to Cuyahoga CC.  Opening tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Cleveland, OH.

The women's team travels to Lakeland CC for a 2 p.m. start on Sunday afternoon.
