Men's and Women's Soccer Teams both ranked in Top 10

The Alfred State women's soccer team moved up two spots in the national rankings this week and are now ranked 7th.  The men's soccer team also improved in the polls this week moving up one spot to 10th.

The women finished the week with a 3-0 mark while not allowing a goal all week.  The Lady Pioneers defeated JCC-Olean 2-0, Erie CC 2-0, and Cayuga CC 4-0.  The Lady Pioneer offense was led by Brittany Hannah (Eastridge) and Jessie Smith (Fredonia) who each scored three goals and one assist this week.  Smith now has 12 goals on the season while Hannah has 11. 

Alfred State currently has an eight game unbeaten streak and they will look to extend that streak when they take on Monroe CC on Thursday at 4 pm in Rochester.  The Lady Pioneers are now 9-2-1 on the season

The Alfred State men's soccer team also improved in the polls moving up to 10th place in the NJCAA Division III rankings.  The Pioneers were 2-0 this week defeating Erie CC 2-0 and JCC-Olean 6-0.  Lucas Wales (Haverling) scored three goals to lead the Pioneer offense while Dan Fabiny (Wellsville) recorded both shutouts in the goal and improves his goals against average to 1.12.  On the season Wales has six goals while Jason Durst (Gates-Chili) and Caleb Drake (Jasper-Troupsburg) each have scored five times.

The Pioneers have a record of 9-3.  The Alfred State men will travel to Auburn on Friday to take on Cayuga CC at 4pm.
