Alfred State College sophomore Clifton Krotz (Cattaraugus Little Valley) has been named the Northeast Football Conference defensive player of the week. Krotz was the leading tackler in the Pioneers 27-21 loss to Hudson Valley.
Krotz led the Pioneers defense with 11 tackles (3 solo). He recovered a fumble and returned it 30 yards to set up a touchdown and was also credited with a sack.
Krotz leads ASC with 30 tackles on the season. He has three tackles for a loss (2 sacks) and a fumble recovery.
The Blue and Gold have a weekend off before heading to Dean College on October 11 for a Noon kickoff with the Bulldogs.
