Students Build Ramp for Local Family
Students enrolled in Alfred State College's Building Trades curriculums have donated their time and talents to help a local family with a wheelchair-bound child by building a ramp at the house where the family lives to make mobility a little easier for the child and his family. ASC student Rick Cummings, of Olean, spearheaded the project and rounded up several of his classmates who volunteered their time and energy to help out. Cummings secured funding for the materials through a contact in the county government. Pictured here, back row, l-r, students who worked on the project: Mike Cunningham, Syracuse; John Disola, Boston, MA; Jim Ellis, Baldwinsville; Joe Fiacchi, Syracuse; Greg Carey, Romulus; and Cummings; with them is Norm Ellis, assistant professor, Building Trades.
