The Alfred State College lacrosse team fell behind 7-1 after the first quarter and never could recover and fell 26-11 to #2 Onondaga CC. The Pioneers fall to 7-5 (6-4 Region III) as they head into their regular season finale on Sunday.
Bill Jolly (Waterloo) led the offense with four goals and three assists while Josh Mateo (Waterloo) had three goals and an assist. William Ardolino (William Floyd) netted two goals and passed out an assist, Mitch Wensel (Corning East) scored twice, and Ryan Grogan (Churchville) was credited with three assists.
Jeff Fabrii (West Warwick, RI) made 17 saves in net for the Blue and Gold.
A-State takes on Tompkins Cortland CC on Sunday in a 1 p.m. contest on the new athletic complex at Alfred State.
