Car Care Awareness Day
Students enrolled in the Automotive Trades curriculums at Alfred State College celebrated National Car Care Month recently when they hosted their annual Car Care Awareness Day in mid-April, on the School of Applied Technology Campus, Wellsville, with a variety of free services, including checks of the following items: lights, fluids, tires, battery, belts and pulleys, and an under-hood inspection. Every car that went through the inspection process also received a free car wash. As an added feature, the ACCORD (Allegany County Community Opportunities and Rural Development) Corp. provided car seat inspections-with the help of the NYS Police-where they checked for the appropriate fit and installation of the car seats. Leading automotive manufacturers and local repair shop owners were also on hand displaying new products and answering questions. As a service to the cars' drivers, Alfred State College nursing students performed free blood pressure checks.
