A-State falls to Herkimer

The Alfred State College lacrosse team led #1 Herkimer CCC 5-4 after the first quarter but the Generals got the offense going and outscored the Pioneers 25 to 6 the rest of the way for the 29-11 victory.  HCCC outscored ASC 11 to 3 in the 2nd and 8 to 0 in the 3rd to take control of the contest.  #1 Herkimer is now 10-1 on the year while the Pioneers fall to 7-4 (6-3 Region III).

Kevin Kemp led the Herkimer offensive attack with two goals and 12 assists while Justin Hayes scored four goals and passed out four asissts.  JP Finn, Jake Koch, David Loubouris, and Chase Dumink all recorded hat tricks.

Josh Mateo (Waterloo) recorded a hat trick and led the team with 13 grounds balls while Ryan Grogan (Churchville) had a goal and four assists.  Jonathan Rivers (Saratoga Springs) had two goals, William Arodlino (William Floyd) had a goal and an assist, while Cory Mee (Churchville), Ben Rossignolo (Churchville), Craig Smith (Mynderse), and Scott More (East Aurora) all found the back of the net once.  Mitch Wensel (Corning East) was credited with an assist.

Jeff Fabbri (West Warwick, RI) made 13 saves in net through three quarters and Deljae Edwards (Syracuse/Nottingham) made two saves in the 4th quarter.

ASC continues the last week of the season when they take on #2 Onondaga CC on Wednesday.  Opening faceoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Corcoran High School.
