Lacrosse downs Delhi

The Alfred State College lacrosse team snapped a two-game losing streak with a 19-14 victory over SUNY Delhi on Sunday in a game played at Hartwick College.  With the victory, the Blue and Gold improve to 7-3 (6-2 Region III) on the year.

Ryan Grogan (Churchville) led the scoring attack with two goals and seven assists on the day.  Bill Jolly (Waterloo) netted five goals while Josh Mateo (Waterloo) and William Ardolino (William Floyd) each scored four goals.  Ben Rossignolo (Churchville) scored two goals and had an assist, Mitch Wensel (Corning East) found the back of the net twice, and Jonathan Rivers (Saratoga Springs) was credited with an assist.

Jeff Fabbri (West Warwick, RI) made 13 saves in net to register his third win of the season.

The Pioneers get right back on the field on Monday when they host #1 Herkimer CCC at the college's new athletic complex.  Opening face-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
