The Alfred State College lacrosse team jumped out to a 3-0 lead but Finger Lakes CC scored six of the next seven goals and never gave the lead up in a 19-14 Region III victory.  With the victory the Lakers improve to 8-7 while the Pioneers fall to 6-3.

Jeremy Brown led FLCC with six goals and an assist while AJ Groot finished with four goals.

Mitch Wensel (Corning East) and Josh Mateo (Waterloo) each recorded hat tricks to pace the Pioneers offense.  Wensel added and assist while Mateo had a team high nine ground balls.  Ryan Grogran (Churchville) led the team with six points on a goal and five assists while William Ardolino (William Floyd) finished with two goals and two assists.  Billy Jolly (Waterloo) scored two goals and had an assist, Ben Rossignolo (Churchville) scored twice, and Cory Mee (Churchville) netted a goal.

FLCC led 6-4 after the first quarter, 11-7 at half, and 15-8 after three quarters.  ASC pushed the Lakers in the fourth quarter but could never cut the lead to less than five.

The Pioneers take on SUNY Delhi on Sunday at 3 p.m. in a contest played at Hartwick College.
