Lax Keeps Rolling

After falling behind 4-1 after one quarter the Alfred State College lacrosse team scored the next seven goals en route to a 14-7 victory over Broome CC on the turf at Alfred State.  With the win the Pioneers have won four straight and remain undefeated in Region III play (4-0, 5-1 overall).

Josh Mateo (Waterloo) led the way with five goals and nine ground balls.  Billy Jolly (Waterloo) and Mitch Wensel (Corning East) each recorded hat tricks.  Jolly also added an assist.  William Ardolino (William Floyd) scored twice and had an assist while Ryan Grogan (Churchville) finished with a goal and three helpers.  Ben Rossignolo (Churchville) chipped in four assists.

Deljae Edwards (Syracuse/Nottingham) made 18 saves in net as the Hornets fired 48 shots in his direction.  He also picked up eight ground balls.

The Pioneers hit the road on Sunday to take on Jefferson CC in a 1 p.m. contest in Watertown.
