Lax downs Genesee

The Alfred State College lacrosse team won their second straight and improved to 3-1 (2-0 Region III) with a 17-11 victory at Genesee CC on Thursday.  ASC outscored GCC 7-1 in the 3rd quarter to take full control of the contest.

Bill Jolly (Waterloo) and Josh Mateo (Waterloo) led the offense with nine points each.  Jolly scored five goals and passed out four assists while Mateo recorded a hat trick and passed out six assists.

Mitch Wensel (Corning East) led the team with six goals and added two assists while Ryan Grogan (Churchville) chipped in two goals and an assist.  Ben Rossignolo (Churchville) picked up a goal and an assist while Brandon Moyer (Cazenovia) and Casey Chase (Salamanca) each were credited with an assist.

Deljae Edwards (Syracuse/Nottingham) earned his first win in net by making 13 saves.

The Blue and Gold return to action next Tuesday (4/8) when they travel to Corcoran High School in Syracuse for a 6 p.m. contest versus Cayuga CC.
