Professionals Attend Conference on Aging

Rose Marie FaganAbout 150 professionals convened on the Alfred State College recently to attend the fourth annual Conference on Aging. Rose Marie Fagan, outreach coordinator, The Pioneer Network, who served as the morning's keynote speaker, discussed pioneering approaches to change the culture of aging from the traditional nursing facilities to a culture that is life affirming, satisfying, humane, and meaningful.  In the afternoon, Dr. Bruce Baum, a professor in the Exceptional Education Department at Buffalo State College and internationally recognized speaker on humor, teamwork, and creative problem solving, presented "Laugh Harder, Live Longer: Coping with Stress through Humor."
