Harbur Updates Cornell Students and Faculty on COSA Progress

Dr. Matthew Harbur, assistant professor of agriculture and horticulture at Alfred State College, recently spoke to members of the Department of Agricultural Sciences, Cornell University, about the development of the Center for Organic and Sustainable Agriculture at Alfred State College.

Harbur, who is director of the Center, delivered a seminar, titled "Hands-On Sustainable Agriculture Education for Western New York."  He described Alfred State College's legacy in agricultural education and the founding of the Center for Organic and Sustainable Agriculture.  He also discussed challenges faced by the new Center, including the development of novel opportunities for agricultural education and recognizing the different models of sustainable agriculture practiced in Western New York State.

Following the seminar, Harbur met with about a dozen Cornell faculty and students to develop new ideas for collaboration between the two schools.
