Lady Pioneers continue spring break trip

The Alfred State College softball team continued their spring trip to Myrtle Beach on Wednesday and were downed 8-4 by OSU (OH) Newark and 9-1 by Mercer (NJ) County CC.  The Lady Pioneers head into the final day of competition at Snowbird Softball on Thursday with a 0-6 record.

In the opener versus OSU, Caitlin Neill (Alfred Almond) and Bridgett Bachert (Horseheads) each finished 2 for 3 while Holly Fitzpatrick (Hornell) was 1 for 1 with a run scored and two RBI.

Fitzpatrick continued to pace the offense in the contest versus Mercer with a 2 for 2 performance.  She also drove in Sarah Flint (Westmoreland) with the lone run of the day.  Flint finished 1 for 1 with a double.

The Lady Pioneers take on Massasoit (MA) CC at 9:30 a.m. and Marshalltown (IA) CC at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday as they close out their spring break action.
