Omoregie Named Athlete of the Week

Alfred State College sophomore Andy Omoregie (Gates Chili) has been named the Region III male athlete of the week. Omoregie helped lead the Pioneers to their 2nd straight Region III Indoor Track & Field Championship on Sunday afternoon.
Omoregie won all three events he was entered in on Sunday. He was the Region III Champion in the long jump (6.05 m), the 55 m hurdles (7.7), and the high jump (1.83 m). In regional competition last weekend, Omoregie also brought home the regional pentathlon title.
Omoregie and his teammates will compete at the Denault Invitational at Cornell University this weekend. Omoregie will also compete at the NJCAA National Championships March 7-8 at Eastern Illinois University.
