Lady Pioneers fall to Genesee CC

The Alfred State College women's basketball team suffered their first WNYAC loss of the season, 73-53, to #10 Genesee CC.  The loss drops the Lady Pioneers to 11-5 (2-1 WNYAC) while the Lady Cougars improve to 17-2 overall.

Tiffany McLaughlin (Wellsville) led ASC with 16 points while Anthia Smith (Elmira Free) recorded another double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.  Desaundra Carr (Boys & Girls) chipped in seven points.

The Lady Pioneers trailed 46-33 at half.  They shot just 29.2% from the field on the game including just 14.7% from the field in the 2nd half.

Bianca Jones led the Lady Cougars with 16 points and 12 rebounds while Cynnetha Bellinger added 13. 

GCC shot 31.5% from the field and held a 65 to 49 advantage on the boards.

A-State returns home on Thursday when they host Niagara CCC at 5:30 p.m.
