Lady Pioneers fall in last seconds

The Alfred State College women's basketball team fell 52-50 to Medaille College JV in their first contest of 2008 and their first contest in over a month.  Medaille hit two foul shots in the final ten seconds to break a 50-50 tie.

Tiffany McLaughlin (Wellsville) led all scorers with 24 points.  Anthia Smith (Elmira Free) added seven points while Sarah Flint (Westmoreland) and Rechelle Brooks (Elmira Free) chipped in six each.

Katie Kohlmeier led Medaille with 13 ponits while Heather Belmont added 11 and Katelyn Hollenbeck finished with 10.

The Lady Pioneers open up the WNYAC portion of their season on Thursday with a road trip to Mercyhurst North East.  Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
