Smith has huge game as A-State downs FLCC
The contest was back and forth most of the way. With Alfred leading 51-50 the Lady Pioneers went on a 15 to 5 run to push the lead to double digits for the first time. Once ahead by double-digits, ASC never looked back and held off any comeback hopes.
Smith finished 5 for 14 from the field and 8 for 12 from the foul line. She grabbed 11 offensive rebounds and 15 defensive boards.
Tiffany McLaughlin (Wellsville) finished with 16 points while Christina Loder (Brantford, ONT) had a career high 16 points off the bench. Rechelle Brooks (Elmira Free) added 12 points and six assists off the bench as the Lady Pioneers bench outscored the Lady Lakers 30 to 18.
Bobbi Dixon led Finger Lakes with 15 points while Tiffany Sullivan added 14. Cinee Fogle chipped in 12 while Brittany Williams finished with 6 points and 17 rebounds.
The Lady Pioneers close out the 2007 portion of their season on Saturday when they host SUNY Orange. Opening tip is at 1 p.m. at the Orvis Activities Center.
