Annual Alfred State College Tournament Set for this Weekend

For the fourth year in a row Alfred State College will host both a men's and women's basketball touranment.  This year's tournament begins on November 30 and wraps up on December 2. 

The women's field is exactly the same as last season.  A-State will look to defend its tournament crown and will take on Jefferson CC in the first round on Friday evening (5 p.m.).  Dean College defeated Fulton Montgomery CC in an exciting overtime contest last year and the two teams will meet again at 7 p.m. on Friday.

The women's tournament consolation contest will tip-off at Noon on Saturday with the championship contest at 2 p.m.

The men's field will once again feature ASC, Jefferson CC, Dean College, and Rockland CC.  Rockland CC and Dean College will battle at 5 p.m. Saturday in the first game of the tournament.  ASC takes on Jefferson CC in the second 1st round match-up at 7 p.m.

The men's consolation game is scheduled for Noon and the championship game is set for 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.

The women's team is 5-1 all-time in the history of the ASC Tournament and have won the last two titles while the men are 6-0 all-time (the 2005 men's tournament was a classic format) and have won two titles.
